Wine bar and restaurant prepares to open doors in Belper

Salloway Property Consultants are pleased to conclude the letting of the Former Unitarian School House, Green Lane, Belper to local entrepreneurs Richard and Christopher Leatherland.

The new tenants have taken occupation of the 70-seater restaurant/bar premises which are located just off King Street following the relocation of the former tenants in November 2020.  The father and son team have taken a new 5-year lease and are currently in the process of carrying out a programme of refurbishment and modernisation in anticipation of the launch event for the venue which will be rebranded as 'The School House Inn' once lockdown measures are lifted.

'We have been looking for premises in Belper for some time that would be suitable to open a Wine Bar/Restaurant and the former Nonno's provided a perfect match. Whilst we are going to put our own stamp on the building, it requires minimal work and therefore, we are currently fine tuning our business and operation in readiness for when the doors can open again.' commented Richard Leatherland.

Associate Director Chris Keogh stated 'Prior to the outbreak, Belper had a vibrant and diverse night time offering and hopefully, when things return to normality it can resume where it left off. During our brief marketing of this property we experienced good levels of interest and therefore, despite the uncertainty created by the pandemic, appetite for quality commercial space in  Belper is still strong. It is satisfying to complete the letting to Richard and Christopher and we look forward to paying a visit when things return to normal.'
