The celebrations which began to mark the 25th anniversary of Salloway Property Consultants' last year continue in 2019 as our Burton office passes its quarter-century.
Phillip Randle joined forces with fellow Derby County fan Stephen Salloway in 1994 after a successful beginning to his career at Maynard & Co. and John German.
He set up the Burton office at Anson Court, Horninglow Street, initially with one secretary and which has now increased to include two chartered surveyors and three support staff.
They have played a key part in developing the commercial offering which has transformed Burton, Ashby, Swadlincote and the general East Staffordshire and South Derbyshire areas that we principally, operate in.
Phillip said: "Time has gone by so quickly and it has been fascinating that we have grown as Burton has developed much beyond just being a brewing town.
"Back in 1994, I was just 32 and keen to do my own thing when Steve and I discussed about a Partnership and opening a business under the Salloway banner in Burton on Trent.
"We had known each other for many years – he had been at businesses in Derby and I had been at John German in Burton-on-Trent for ten years – and we created a set-up which I thought would work and so it has proved.
"Burton has been a vibrant place to work and we have been lucky enough to be able to immerse ourselves in the business community.
"I feel as if we have evolved with it as it has diversified from its traditional brewing background.
"We have been pleased to be involved with a large number of commercial transactions over the years including involvement on a number of business parks, such as Graycar, Centrum 100 and Eastgate in Burton and more recently Ivanhoe in Ashby de la Zouch, Optimum in Swadlincote and which has been satisfying not just from the business perspective but from the job creation and the vibrancy it has added to the local economy".
He has also been involved with Burton Albion and is something that dates back to his days with John German and he said "It has been great to see the club evolve and achieve such fantastic success over the past 20 years and long may it continue".
"It symbolises the way the town has been on the up and up and I like to think we have been too!"
