Salloway and joint agents Colliers International have been appointed to secure new tenants for three prime retail units opposite the entrance to Westfield Derby.7

According to local surveys there has been a 26% rise in consumer footfall in the thoroughfares of East Street and St Peter's Street, with recent additions such as Barclays Bank highlighting the convenience of the location.

With units ranging from 2,026 to 5,697 sq ft, with prominent display frontages and offering not only retail space, but room for back-office and storage areas.

Marc Ballard, director of Salloway, said: "As a retailer, it's the perfect time to get your spot near the action. The Westfield has been a great development, but we are now seeing the momentum swing back to the high street, which is clearly great news for the vibrancy of the city centre."

The vacancies include 24-26 East Street, currently occupied by Field and Trek. Nearby outlets include Phones 4 U, Card Factory, HMV, Poundland and Betfred. At 5,697 square feet, the property is split over two floors.

The second, 29 St Peters Street, was previously occupied by national brand, Ann Harvey. It is based close to the Westfield entrance, just off East Street and nearby outlets include Lloyds TSB, Tesco, Evans, Greggs, Footlocker and McDonalds. At 2,026 square feet, the property is arranged over two floors.

The site is central to the St Peter's Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) - an area of the city where businesses, tenants and landowners have collaborated to deliver a proposal aimed at raising a levy based upon rateable value.

All revenue raised will be streamed directly back into promoting St Peter's Quarter, in order to both promote and support local businesses as well as increase footfall and improve the overall ambiance of the area.
