New Additions To Leading Agents

Two trainee surveyors have been taken on at Salloway to learn the ropes in the commercial property industry.

George Massey and Mercedes Barrowcliffe are both undergraduates from Nottingham Trent University.

They will be working towards their Assessment of Professional Competence qualifications, an important step on the way to becoming fully-fledged chartered surveyors and members of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Next year, they will both return to university to complete their courses.

Mr Massey is studying property finance and investment, having moved to the East Midlands from Manchester.

He said: I'm really pleased to have had an offer from Salloway and am really enjoying getting involved in the different elements of work that the company can offer me experience in and I'm keen to get to grips with the practical side of the commercial property field. Mr Massey will be working in the Derby office and assisting in all aspects of valuation and agency work.

He said: The experience I will get during my time working here should add to my ability and knowledge at an exponential rate, which I'm very excited about.

Mercedes Barrowcliffe, from Nottingham, is studying real estate and will be assisting in the firms office in the city.

She said: Everything we study in the first two years of our university courses builds up towards our placement year, where we put into place what we've learned.

I've been inspecting property, producing dilapidation reports, putting together property particulars and researching other agents and getting to know the local market.

I'm looking forward to putting my theory into practice, building my skills, and gaining priceless experience, she said.
